Casllwchwr Primary School has 200+ pupils from the ages of 3 to 11 years old. The school is situated on the banks of the River Loughor near the remains of a Norman castle overlooking the beautiful Burry Estuary. The original school building was constructed in 1881 and faces the main road through Loughor.

Since 1970, the school has been greatly expanded and most of the children are now based in the new buildings which are situated behind the old school.

The school has extensive grounds in picturesque surroundings, including its own nature reserve.
